Ole Gunnar Solskjaer on ‘certain manager’ complaining about Manchester United penalties (Video)

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer apparently believes his team have been getting less penalty decisions since Liverpool s Jurgen Klopp pointed out that they d been getting a lot of them.

Since Klopp made his comment last season, United have had five penalties in the Premier League, while Liverpool have had two. The two teams have had 32 each with these two managers in charge, even though Klopp has been in the Liverpool dugout since October 2015, and Solskjaer in charge at United since March 2019.

A certain manager last year was starting to worry about us getting penalties and after that it seems like the decisions are more difficult to give.

Bayern Munich 4-2 Borussia Dortmund: Lewandowski outguns Haaland with Klassiker hat-trick

Robert Lewandowski outscored Erling Haaland with a Klassiker hat-trick as Bayern Munich recovered from two goals down to again beat Borussia Dortmund in a 4-2 victory.

Bayern reclaimed top spot in the Bundesliga hours after being knocked off the summit by RB Leipzig, despite an awful start to another epic encounter on Saturday.

The champions were two behind inside nine minutes following Haaland s brace, but Lewandowski had them level by half-time and Dortmund, already missing Jadon Sancho, saw their two-goal talisman hobble off with half an hour to play.

BVB still looked set to hold on and end a run of four league defeats to Bayern, only for Leon Goretzka to break their resolve before Lewandowski s treble-clincher capped another outstanding outing.

St Helena: Atlantic outpost of ‘Premier League fanatics’ set for Island Games

The British overseas territory of St Helena will look to step out of the shadow of the Premier League that hangs over its football culture when they begin their Island Games campaign in Guernsey on Sunday.

The 4,300 inhabitants of the remote South Atlantic island, which lies 1,200 miles from its nearest mainland neighbour South Africa, are more likely to be interested in the results of Arsenal, Chelsea or Liverpool than those of their nascent ‘national team’.

But for the 17 players that have travelled just under 10,000 miles – via Johannesburg, Heathrow and Reading – across three days to fly their flag in the Channel Islands, it will be a chance to remind that there is more to football on the island than broadcasts of matches in England’s top flight.

Galtier returns to haunt Ligue 1 champions Lille but demands Nice build on 4-0 victory

Nice must build on their 4-0 thrashing of Ligue 1 champions Lille, Christophe Galtier demanded after triumphing over his former club.

Galtier led Lille to the title last season, as Les Dogues edged out Paris Saint-Germain.

While PSG have added more remarkable talent to their already world class squad, with the arrivals of Sergio Ramos, Georginio Wijnaldum, Achraf Hakimi and Gianluigi Donnarumma topped off by the signing of Lionel Messi, Lille have had to contend with the loss of their coach, who left the club to join Nice in the off-season.

Galtier and Lille hardly parted on good terms internally, despite the 54-year-old delivering the club s first title in a decade.

There have also been rumblings of discontent at Nice, with tensions reportedly appeari…
